A little bit of a cheeky ‘look at this awesome thing my friend did’ kind of post today… 😉 But don’t worry, this is not some sort of sponsored post! This is literally just going to be me talking about a little project that I love, that I recently got to write a post for 🙂
You guys all know I love books right? I write about them enough!
Well, very recently my wonderful friend Martin, who I went to uni with, recently started a website all about books and I love it! Basically, he gets a tonne of different people to curate a list of their top 5 books that they would recommend to everyone. Actually, Martin explains it better than I ever could:
Every week we ask one of our curators what five books they would unconditionally recommend. Books they think are important, beautiful or just plain entertaining. They share a little bit about each one: why they chose it, what it means to them and what kind of person would enjoy it best.
Online stores can recommend books that are similar to the ones you’ve already read and yes, you’ll likely enjoy them. But that’s a cop-out. Our aim is to help you find books that you wouldn’t otherwise read, to broaden your perspectives and to discover new stories, new ideas and new worlds.
Since he started it my TBR list has already grown by a silly amount!
Anyway, recently I was asked to come up with my own list of recommendations and I found it surprisingly difficult! There were so many books I wanted to talk about and just narrowing it down to 5 was a challenge. One of the books I chose was a memoir that I’ve previously written about on this blog as part of my AF Reading Challenge. Another, was the graphic novel which changed my opinion on the whole format.
And the others? Well… I don’t want to spoil it! You can read the whole post over on the the Fox & Songbird site, but I just wanted to take the opportunity to publicly thank Martin for giving me the opportunity to get involved in this project! It was so much fun and so far I’m really enjoying seeing what everyone else is recommending.
Want to be involved?
Also, I figured it was worth mentioning the fact that Fox & Songbird are always looking for new Curators to be a part of the project and recommend their 5 books so if you’re interested, you can check out this link and find out a little bit more! 🙂
Go check out my book recommendations and let me know what you think of them in the comments!
Also, if you guys can recommend any good fashion or beauty book I’d love to hear about them 🙂
