Suiting Up

Whether you’re new to this blog or you’ve been reading it for a while, you might have guessed that I’m a big fan of putting together outfits and makeup looks without spending a fortune. I genuinely believe that just because you’re on a budget, it doesn’t have to mean you don’t always feel and look great in what you’re wearing.

That’s why this week I put together a really affordable outfit that’s suitable for work, for any kind of formal occassion, or just to make you feel super-confident!

I’ll start with the top – this is an adorable little white lace vest top which I bought from H&M while I was living in Oxford. I got it in the sale so instead of around £9, I got it for £3. It’s a really nice fit but I tucked it into the trousers to keep the whole outfit tider.

The trousers are from Primark and, although they’re a couple of years old now, you can still get an almost identical pair today for under £10. I really like how they fit around the waiste and tops of the legs and they have slightly flared bottoms which make them really comfy!

Last up there’s the blazer and this is what really pulls the outfit together! I love this blazer so much – it’s from H&M and was a present from Dan last year. From what I remember it was around £30 to £35 so it’s not that expensive! The imporatant thing is, it’s a really nice fit around the shoulders and back and on the sleeves.

A proper tailored jacket can be great, but if you can’t afford that, just making sure the one you pick up on the hight street fits really well can mean it looks just as good!

I also paired this with a little pale pink Primark bag, to add a splash of colour, and a long necklace which cost around the same.

Overall this entire outfit cost no more than around £60 and I absolutely love how it looks and how it makes me feel! It really proves you don’t have to spend a fortune on clothes to still look good!
